My name is Claire Wheeldon and I am the mother of two young children and a fully qualified languages teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience in London, Saffron Walden and abroad.

I set up Fun Little Linguists in March 2022 to combine these two areas of my life to offer young children with their parents / carers the amazing opportunity to start learning Spanish.

I have loved teaching Spanish and seeing the great progress children of all ages have made, from the under ones to five-year olds. We’ve had so much fun in the classes: learning catchy songs, playing games, hunting out toys in the garden and exploring a bit of Spanish culture too. Where and When?

My home in Ickleton, South Cambridgeshire - within 15 minutes of the Shelfords, Saffron Walden and Sawston and 20 minutes south of Cambridge. There is some parking along the pavement opposite my house.

2023 Autumn Term Course (12 classes) starts on:

  • Wednesday 20 September at 16:00 for children in Reception & KS1
  • Friday 22 September at 9:30 for children aged 0-4

What is special about Fun Little Linguists?

  • Inspiring a love of languages from a young age is at the heart of my classes. This is a great opportunity to begin your child’s language learning journey in a positive and supportive environment and it will make them more receptive in the future to learning languages (whichever they may be).
  • Classes offer your child and you the chance to learn Spanish together in a small and friendly group.
  • We use as much Spanish as possible in class, teaching whole sentences/ phrases from the very start so that we are exposed to as much language in context as possible.
  • After each class, I provide resources to enable you and your child to have fun practising Spanish at home together.

What better way to spark a love of Spanish and its culture in your child? Young children pick up languages most easily, so we are going to make the most of that!

Taster Classes

Book a taster class for your child and you in one of the 2023 Autumn Term classes, either on a Wednesday at 16:00 or a Friday at 9:30.

You can then:

  • join the Autumn Term Course if there are spaces available; pay pro rata for the remaining classes
  • if the Autumn Course is full, book a space on the 2024 Spring Term Course
